Phil Hartman (cuyo verdadero nombre era Philip Edward Hartmann) fue un actor canadiense nacido el 24 de septiembre de 1948 en Brantford, Ontario, Canadá y fallecido el 28 de mayo de 1998 en California, Estados Unidos por homicidio. Fue famoso por interpretar a Troy McClure y a Lionel Hutz en la serie animada Los Simpson, personajes que fueron retirados tras su muerte. También trabajó en películas como Small Soldiers y El regalo prometido. Antes de Los Simpson trabajó varias temporadas en televisión en el programa Saturday Night Live, serie norteamericana donde se hicieron famosos muchos comediantes, cuya característica principal era ser transmitida en directo a todo Estados Unidos. Despues de la muerte de Hartman sus personajes no han vuelto aparecer en show.
